Yes. I took too many pictures. But they do get prettier as they go because the second day I waited till the sun came out and you can see how pretty the water really was. You MUST visit this beach.
We spent Saturday and Sunday doing laundry and packing, and Monday, cooking: pimento cheese, egg salad, chicken salad, pasta salad, chicken spaghetti, nacho meat, In-n-Out Copycat Burgers and Secret Sauce, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispies, Peanut Butter Cup Ooey Gooey Bars, and Ho Ho Cake. Tuesday morning, with enough chocolate and peanut butter to feed a whale, we headed for Palm Island on the Gulf Coast!
The kids thought driving our car onto a ferry to cross over to the island was an adventurous start.
As was the scenic golf cart ride to Coconuts for ice cream while we waited for our condo to be ready.

(Pretty much a foretaste of Heaven, in my book.)

We also killed some time by visitng Shark's Tooth Beach...
Where we saw this little guy and had to start in on the "hey hey" commentary from Finding Nemo.
This little girl was pleased as a pineapple to be back near the beach. She inherited her love for the ocean from her momma.

Once in the condo, we spent all of five minutes enjoying the view and loudly chatting it up... then it got quiet and I came out from unpacking to see what was the matter...
They weren't wasting any time...

I think this was the last time this child was seen above the water until the day we left...

The girls sporting their mermaid tales.

Honey helped the little's design bead necklaces during "down time" in the condo.

And I had to snap a bazillion pictures of the baby because she's growing so fast.

And some of the sleeping almost-teenager. Because that's just too much fun.
And because he's growing fast, too.

Whoops, busted.
Such a good sport.
I even got a smoulder... wait. Maybe that's a glare.

Wuv him.

And before you know it, it's time to sunscreen up and head down for more. If you like to shell, this is the place. You must go.

In case you were wondering, this is what happens when you think you are taking a picture of someone underwater but have it in selfie mode by accident. Attractive? No. But funny.

Shaun and I had a date night at Rum Bay Restaurant, the only restaurant on the island. The pineapple and coconut bread and orange marmelade was amazing. Then we hurried to catch the sunset at Shark's Tooth Beach.
Another night we took family pictures, which I'll post at a later date, but the beach was so pretty that night.
You'd think the kids would sleep in from all the swimming, but no.
And when condos only offer tea-sized mugs... you may resort to something like this. Don't judge.
The last morning we decided to make one last run over to Shark's tooth beach before check out so Sam could add to his collection.
We didn't plan to swim.
Until we saw the manatee... then we kind of tore off in a chase. I tried to film it underwater but it's just a blob in slow motion. Darn.

Then when we couldn't put off leaving any longer we dragged our wet selves back to the condo to pack up.
But on the ferry ride home I noticed they set aside a life preserver just for me... so clearly I'm meant to live here now and forevermore.
Beach days will make you hungry.
And sleepy.
Just as every day should.
