Puppy Picnic Party
July 1st she turns 6, and July 3rd he turns 4! So we had a joint party this year.
My camera is broken. :( It is very delayed if shooting at all and so these pictures suffer for it. But I am glad to have them nonetheless. I borrowed my mom’s camera and it died! Guess I should’ve borrowed the charger, huh? Then I borrowed my friend, Dana’s, camera and switched cards and then my card said it was full even though it wasn’t and so picture-taking was NOT a joy. So I didn’t take many… like the shot of all the kids under the shade of our small trees on the side yard with their baskets- or of them all sitting in a circle in Madalyn’s room conversing…
I took advantage of one of the few times in life when it’s deemed okay to swear and told Shaun late the night prior- “I just spent over an hour icing these bitches.” Don’t judge me. It felt good. And I am certain they are females because male dogs would never be such trouble (which is not a statement on gender, in general, but regarding dogs, and… oh good Lord I better stop talking…)
Adoption Center. Store was out of various puppy breeds so a few kittens ended up at the par-tay, as well.
Lunch for the kids.
Can I tell you that of all these things- the earrings, bows, leashes we made… I think that body spray was the favorite activity. Body glitter came in second. My porch may be sticky… but it is sparkly and fresh melon scented, as well.
Puppy chow is Reeses cereal and I was so happy to see the kids actually feeding their dogs in the dog food bowls they made and really playing with them… I was so worried they would rip through everything in 5 minutes and be bored out of their minds.
Sigh… can’t believe he’s four. Can’t believe she’s six. Can’t believe I’m thirty…

Sanibel Island: Part Three
Jack’s new camera smile. Super.
Whoops- lost the flip flops…
better lose ‘em- they slow a man down.
The first is what most pictures we try to take look like; what our life looks like.
The fix-it man.
Catching fish with her bare hands…
which actually worked for her once since there were so many minnows.
With Honey and Poppy.
Shaun was nice enough to let me be on the other side of the camera so the children know I really was there…
unfortunately, if you try to share a close-up with Sam, this is what happens…
he gets mad for you slowing him down,
royally offended that you would do that to him…
so we give up.
He has other fish to fry… redheads to check out.
But he’s a wanted man, so he can’t stay for long…
he needs his freedom…
It wouldn’t be fair to not spread the charm all around.
