Psalm 127

1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
       its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.

2 In vain you rise early
       and stay up late,
       toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to  those he loves.

3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
       children a reward from him.

4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth.

5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

And come December, it looks like the Lord will be adding a 5th arrow to this household quiver!

We're very excited.  Some people played doctor when they were little, some played teacher, some played with paints... I played dolls.  I played dolls until I was too old to play dolls.  And in 60 years, God willing, I'll be rocking a doll in a nursing home and have come full circle.

When I was working I often said "I feel so overwhelmed" and I felt like maybe people thought I was just saying that.  But it was genuine.  This year I have often said "it's been such a peaceful year for us,"  and again, I'm not sure some believe me!  I must sound like a put-on Pollyanna.   How can homeschooling 4 children be peaceful?  But it has been.  It has made the biggest difference in my life and I never would've considered it had the Lord not "forced a crisis" with our schooling decision.  I think the peace has to do with being submissive to the Lord's will for my life, or more accurately, for this season of my life... for this day, for this minute... (oh, that my heart would learn to submit each minute!)  It was more like He had to twist my arm till I cried uncle!  He knows the best way.  He doesn't say to me "this is the best way for everyone"  but "this is My best way for you and yours."  It's the path He sees best fit for our little flock of sheep; the best way for them to be equipped to apprehend what they were apprehended for.  (Phil 3: 12.)

So here we are, and I feel overjoyed.  Overjoyed with the fact that I am so enjoying it, that I didn't miss it.  Spilling over with thankfulness.

I just want you to know that I don't share pictures here or on Facebook because I want people to think I'm supermom.  I am NOT supermom.  I am thankful.  God is super and I am thankful.  I post pictures because I am thankful for the things in them. I enjoy sharing my joy with my friends as you do with me in your pictures and stories.
