Jack had his 15 minutes of fame at the Christmas Eve service where he persistently stood to hold things (when others were asked to hold them) and persistently raised his hand to read a verse (he can’t read yet.) Finally he was given the chance to answer a question and replied “I got nothin’!”
He was also given a chance to hold the microphone for a girl who did read and got to happily answer his name when asked (in the microphone.) On the way out of the service we heard many “goodbye, Jack!” s due to his newly found fame. (The publicity started a few nights prior when he was just as prominent a personality in the Christmas pageant and came running up the aisle making his own entrance from back of the church when all other farm animals entered from the side stage.)
Just now the following conversation took place:
“Jack, why is your mouth red?”
“UM… it’s just bleeding.”
“No, tell the truth, please, why is your mouth red?”
“Because I touched a gumball and it climbed up my arm and onto my face.”
Lacking integrity, perhaps, but not creativity.
Grandma McDonnell gave Charlotte this Christmas dress and she was so precious in it; our best Christmas gift, all wrapped up.
Daddy looked handsome, too.
Madalyn got the American Girl Doll she’s been dreaming of. As my friend Dana mentioned- it’s been a long wait.
Here is “Kit” feeding Madalyn a Kit Kat, very appropriate.
She also got a sewing machine and we shall see if we can both learn how to sew…
She got a pattern book to make matching girl and doll clothes. By the way, do not call her doll “kit.” She has been renamed “Madie” or Madalyn’s mini-me.
Evan’s favorite gift is a small kids’ video camera that he has been intensely using, along with tripod and big plans.
Jack’s favorite gift was more of the same: train tracks and trains and puzzles and such.
Hope you all had a great Christmas, too!
