This was Jack's initial reaction to his siblings' costumes... first he stared in admiration...

THEN he HUGGED each of them passionately... it was all he knew to do to express such delight with their appearance... and Evan welcomed it, as you can see... he LOVES his little brother madly and they're finally starting to play together frequently.

This is the pumpkin cake my mom made when we were little.  You just invert two bundt cakes and tie plastic spiders to a Dixie cup for the stem so the kids can pull it out and watch the spiders dangle.  Fun stuff, people.

Omitting pixie dust ... I can't TELL YOU the extent of the wedgie factor this night!  Could've set records... her costume was too short for her, poor kid.  She was trooper... I think I was as happy as she was to take that thing off of her at the end of the night.  Give her some sweet relief!                         

Evan wasn't sure about the whole concept of knocking on strangers' doors.  Every house he checked to make sure it was alright and that I would be watching.  It's nice when they're watching you so closely you don't even have to watch them.  One less to worry about.  Madalyn, on the other hand, led the pack...
