This Evening's Local News

I've read posts on two different blogs lately that referred to local news stations. It's just too easy- first there's the station itself, (and for anyone who's been in Florida during a hurricane and seen their anchors gone wild reporting, nuff said.) And then there's the local stories of the local crazies- things so strange that if you wrote it in a piece of fiction your editors would cry wolf and laugh at your ambitious imagination. We're talking, rich, rich material here. Okay, so now it's my turn...

Tonight it's been reported that here in Orlando an 89 year old woman, who hit the gas instead of reverse in a Winn Dixie parking lot, plowed down a man (who was collecting money for his church) and took off one of his legs, then crashed into the storefront just before sending a nearby pregnant woman into labor from the scare. The leg was grabbed by a witness and put it in a bucket of ice until the medics could arrive.

Now where do I go from here? "Because of Winn Dixie" or "Driving Miss Daisy," or should I stick to the facts at hand? Too many options and since it's late I suppose I'll just resort to a one word summation... Wow.
